Most artists spend their fifties looking back.
The Slow Day are writing the best new music of their lives.
the band
The Slow Day have been storming through the annals of Manchester’s music legacy with their synthesis of high-octane emotional energy, Americana, Blues and Indie Rock since 2019, when they debuted with the heart and howl of The Poet.
Their sophomore single, I Can’t Sleep, and its smoky, psychedelic intensity established the trio as an unreckonably authentic force; one which lashes past arbitrary limitations and perceptions of what rock should be. With classic crescendos that rock traditionalists would struggle to turn away from and intuitively visual twists to their sound, The Slow Day built a loyal following before stepping away in 2020.
Returning in 2025, the trio reconnected with the stage through a sell-out comeback show at Gullivers in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, before releasing Antidote on 2 February 2026, marking the start of a renewed chapter for one of Manchester’s most emotionally charged alt-rock bands.
"If there's any Manchester band worth getting excited about,
it's The Slow Day with their anthemically-charged sound.
Their name is criminally deceptive." (A&R Factory)
"The Slow Day don't overindulge in nostalgia… they take plenty
of influence from older bands without being mired by nostalgia
or a desire to replicate the past." (RAMzine)

all we left behind

All We Left Behind is the new single, released on 10 July 2026.
Recorded at Dead Basic Studios in Manchester, it has been produced by Lewis Brookes and mastered by the legendary Pete Maher.
“It’s a song about learning that the wrong relationships aren’t wasted time. Every mistake, every heartbreak and every bad decision teaches you something. The older you get, the more you realise those lessons are what allow you to fully appreciate the person who finally makes everything make sense.”
(Adam, The Slow Day)
“To see the true ingenuity within All We Left Behind is to revere how The Slow Day conjured such emotive intensity between the sonic thematics and the juxtapositions between the lush, languid verses and stadium-ready chorus vocals. Hit play if you want to know how it feels to be emotionally pulled apart by melody.”
(Amelia Vandergast, the Executive Editor at A&R Factory)
